Role Overview:
As a vital member of our Yield Management Team, the Yield Analyst plays a key role in maximizing profitability for Challenger across all divisions, specifically focusing on closed van full truckload shipments. This entails conducting in-depth analysis, collaborating with Operations for solutions, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced team setting. The Yield Analyst also spearheads customer-specific design and optimization efforts. We are seeking a candidate with exceptional analytical skills, the ability to simplify complex data, and a passion for teamwork across functions.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Yield Analysis:
    • Utilize in-house software for lane analysis and action plan development to enhance profitability on a per-lane, per-customer, and overall network basis
    • Design customer-specific lane optimizations to maximize profitability within service capabilities
    • Enhance demand forecasting and capacity allocation to maximize asset utilization
    • Lead annual pricing review analysis for major customers
  • Lead Strategic Pricing Initiatives:
    • Manage high-priority pricing requests with significant impact on network profitability
    • Collaborate with various teams on new network directives to drive profitability
  • Specialist in Pricing Tools:
    • Enhance pricing tools with updated cost inputs for an automated pricing process
    • Utilize analytics software like Alteryx, Knime, etc.
  • Revenue Quality Management Reporting:
    • Provide regular updates on revenue metrics to key stakeholders across the closed-van network
    • Monitor KPIs and recommend strategies to improve key indicators
    • Support operational initiatives with data analysis
  • Project Management:
    • Lead projects to improve profitability, collaborating with stakeholders
    • Manage customer RFPs requiring yield analysis
    • Develop action plans to enhance revenue quality
  • Create efficient workflows and drive continuous process improvement
  • Present data summaries for internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with analytical colleagues to optimize network balance
  • Engage actively with cross-functional teams to ensure cost considerations in analysis
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service to internal teams and customers
  • Initiate process improvements and issue resolutions
  • Go the extra mile to ensure team success and deliver exceptional work
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications for Success:

  • Proficiency in MS Excel with a proven track record of leveraging its full potential
  • Experience with Knime, Alteryx, or similar workflow software is a plus
  • Education in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • Transportation knowledge/experience or strong interest in optimization
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Quick learner with excellent time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Capability to work independently and handle challenging situations
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive approach to deadlines
