The packing department encompasses a variety of machines and processes, such as machine-feed piece counters, hand-feed automated baggers, bulk & hand packing operations, and a high-speed multihead weigh/count packing machine. These packing operations collectively ship an average of 15 million units to our 3PL each month.

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine Setup: Efficiently configure all types of packing machines, checkweighers, printers, and scales to minimize production downtime and optimize productivity.
  • Continuous Enhancement: Drive ongoing process improvements.
  • Machinery Maintenance: Perform preventative and routine machine maintenance, report equipment malfunctions, and facilitate the repair of faulty equipment.
  • Quality Assurance: Scrutinize products to maintain and enhance the quality standards of all departmental products.
  • SAP Operations: Execute necessary SAP transactions and confirmations accurately.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct regular stock assessments to ensure precise stock and consumables management.
  • Collaboration with Operations: Utilize the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) file to allocate all products to the correct packing variants as per the production plan. Work closely with the operations team to ensure a streamlined process from components to customers.
  • Communication/Training: Daily interaction with senior production staff, offering assistance, and guiding the development of departmental colleagues.
  • Safety: Adhere to all relevant company protocols, maintain departmental cleanliness for a safe work environment.
  • Execute any reasonable and legitimate directives provided.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Champion behavioral-based safety and environmental compliance, emphasize the "see it, sort it, report it" approach to address immediate safety concerns, and proactively take charge of personal safety and that of colleagues.
  • Prioritize process quality to prevent customer complaints.
  • Adhere to operational and machine specifications to ensure optimal performance and attainment of production goals.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the STAR2025 Strategy in partnership with your Section Leader to drive enhancements across all facets of the department and site.

Experience & Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
