Role: Senior Residential Support Worker

Reporting to: Home Manager

Location: Residential Children's Homes in Nottinghamshire

Salary: £15.50 per hour, £90 per sleep-in, with a potential yearly salary of £50,310.00 based on working three 15-hour shifts and three sleep-ins per week.

Working Hours: 45 hours per week, including sleep-ins. Shifts between 10AM-11PM (sleeping 11PM-8AM), with a next-day off shift at 10:30AM (3 times a week). Additional overtime opportunities available.

We are looking for individuals who:

Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience and working with children with challenging behaviors, preferably in residential care or a relevant professional setting.

Skills: Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to being a positive role model. Capable of managing challenging behaviors and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Children's Health and Social Care or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards obtaining this qualification.

Requirements:

  • Valid UK driving license with access to a car for commuting.
  • Prior experience as a support worker in residential children's homes.
  • Willingness to conduct overnight sleep-ins as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead roles in children's homes, supporting and guiding the team.
  • Conduct staff supervisions.
  • Complete Risk Assessments, Care Plans, etc.
  • Offer general support to the Home Manager.

And other responsibilities of a Residential Support Worker:

  • Provide comprehensive care for children, meeting their physical, emotional, and daily needs.
  • Engage in activities, family interactions, and educational outings with the children.
  • Maintain a clean and organized home environment, supporting the children's health and education.
  • Deliver high-quality services that address the needs of young individuals and advocate for their well-being.
  • Assist children in building self-esteem, security, and coping strategies for challenging behaviors and thoughts, helping them reach their full potential.
  • Promote a positive safeguarding culture and teamwork spirit.
  • Encourage a supportive culture where individuals are valued and empowered to make a positive impact.
  • Lead or assist in various activities and daily tasks.
  • Adhere to OFSTED and company standards and guidelines.
