As a Paramedic Functional Assessor, your role will involve utilizing your clinical responder experience to assess how individuals' disabilities or health conditions impact their daily lives. You will be handling complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions, as well as chronic pain disorders. Your empathy and expertise will play a crucial role in helping our clients progress towards a better quality of life.

This position offers both challenges and rewards, and we provide a comprehensive training program to support your professional development. You will receive formal training before starting assessments, along with ongoing mentorship and support to help you excel in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments via telephone, video, or face-to-face to evaluate the impact of individuals' health conditions
  • Prepare Personal Independent Payment (PIP) reports to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in determining benefit eligibility
  • Enhance your clinical knowledge and assessment skills through regular feedback and supervision

Requirements:

  • Valid HCPC registration number
  • Minimum of 1 year of diverse post-registration experience within or outside of an NHS ambulance trust
  • Authorization to work in the UK
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proficient in using computer software to generate detailed reports

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary of £37,800 per year, with an additional skills allowance of up to £1,500
  • Flexible working options, including full-time, part-time, and hybrid schedules
  • No work on bank holidays, evenings, or weekends
  • Leading maternity and paternity paid leave benefits
  • 25 days of annual leave, with the opportunity to buy or sell 5 additional days
  • Continuous professional development, clinical training, and reimbursement of validation fees
  • Referral incentives of £2,000 for recommending a friend
  • Life insurance coverage and access to Medicash Healthcare Cash Plan
  • Annual in-person clinical conferences

If you are passionate about making a positive impact on people's lives, we invite you to join our team and be part of a meaningful journey towards holistic well-being.

Maximus has been conducting health assessments for the DWP since 2015. Starting September, we will be managing the Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) for Northern England and Scotland, encompassing PIP assessments and Work Capability Assessments.

As a Disability Confident Leader, Maximus welcomes applications from individuals with disabilities who wish to be considered under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme, provided they meet the essential criteria of the role.
