Reporting To: Director of Human Resources
Summary:

Working under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, the HR Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the growth of the Métis Nation – Saskatchewan's HR Department, managing the increasing demands of the expanding workforce. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative support, managing employee data, recruitment tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of employee files.
  • Create reports, upload documents, and ensure HR data integrity.
  • Assist in posting job openings and managing the applicant tracking system.
  • Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and assist in the hiring process.
  • Conduct reference checks and verification of employment.
  • Coordinate onboarding and prepare new hire documentation.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions and track employee participation.
  • Prepare reports, upload documents, and ensure HR data accuracy.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources.
  • 1-2 years of business environment experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of Métis Culture.
  • Commitment to a diverse and culturally competent work environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with HR management practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Standard 37.5-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
  • Criminal Record Check mandatory.
  • Saskatchewan driver’s license and reliable transportation.
