The Ministry of Corrections, Policing & Public Safety is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join as a Financial Analyst. In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Director of Police Contracts and Financial Services within the Policing & Community Safety Services Division. Responsibilities include financial analysis, budget development, forecasting, and financial management for the Division.

The ideal candidate will analyze operational finances, offer insights on accounting principles, Financial Administration Manual (FAM), internal policies, and applicable legislation. Additionally, you will generate financial and operational reports to meet internal and specialized reporting needs while adhering to Ministry and government guidelines.

We are looking for someone well-versed in financial planning, management principles, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, MIDAS Financials, and a quick grasp of new technical skills are essential. Strong leadership, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational capabilities are crucial to thrive in this fast-paced environment.

The desired qualifications for this role include a university degree in Accounting, Master of Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or Economics, along with a professional accounting designation (CPA) or a commitment to pursuing one. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be duly considered.
