We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Import Operator to join our Imports team. As an integral part of our mission to deliver exceptional support to our clients, you will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods across international borders, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to changing scenarios will be crucial in your role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate freight bookings with approved carriers/lines.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve customer queries and requests promptly and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with overseas agents and clients via email, phone, and other communication channels to resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
- Ensure all necessary pre-alert documents are prepared before vessel arrival.
- Verify and maintain accurate documentation.
- Process supplier invoices and maintain relevant spreadsheets.
- Keep the sales department informed about client activities and business profitability.
- Provide regular updates to departmental managers on shipment statuses.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in freight forwarding, preferably with an independent company.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments and remain composed under stress.
- Capacity to coordinate with a global network of agents, suppliers, shipping lines, and hauliers.
- Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks with precision and a sense of urgency.
- Positive attitude, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Commercial awareness to enhance repeat business and identify new growth opportunities.
- Drive for success and a desire to contribute to the company's objectives.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
